This Privacy Policy explains how Megan Kennedy, trading as Balance Accounting, collects and uses personal data submitted through this website. It applies to visitors and enquirers only. If you are an existing client, the handling of your data is governed separately by the Privacy Notice and Letter of Engagement provided to you at the start of our engagement.

Balance Accounting is the trading name of Megan Kennedy, an AAT Licensed Bookkeeper (Licence No. 1010087) based in Chichester, West Sussex. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under registration reference ZB512620.

When you submit an enquiry through the contact form on this website, I collect:

• Your email address
• Your business type
• Any information you include in your message

3. How I Use It

Enquiry data is used solely to respond to your message and discuss whether my services are a good fit for your business. It is not used for marketing, added to a mailing list, or shared with any third party for their own purposes.

4. Lawful Basis

I process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interest — responding to enquiries is a necessary and proportionate part of running a bookkeeping practice, and it would not reasonably be expected that submitting an enquiry would lead to anything other than a response.

5. Who I Share Your Data With

I do not sell your personal data or share it with third parties for marketing purposes. I use the following data processors who handle personal data on my behalf:

• HubSpot (USA): CRM — stores contact enquiries.
• Resend (USA): Email delivery — routes enquiry form submissions to my inbox.
• Vercel (USA): Website hosting — processes technical data associated with website requests.

I will never use the information you provide to make unsolicited approaches to any third party.

6. Data Retention

If your enquiry leads to an engagement, your details will be retained in accordance with the Privacy Notice provided as part of that engagement. If it does not lead to an engagement, your enquiry will be retained for no longer than 12 months before being deleted.
